Roy Edward Andrews was born 27 March 1920, the son of Frances (nee Hall) and Kenneth Andrews of New Plymouth. Before the war he worked as an electrician in New Plymouth.
During World War Two he served in the New Zealand Army as a driver and was a member of Jayforce from 1945 to 1948.
After the war he moved to the Hawkes Bay and married Saidee Leech. He died on 19 October 1986.
