Flying Officer ( Pilot ) Frank Reidhaar Bullot was born 27 June 1916 in New Plymouth. He was the second son of Arthur and Bertha Bullot. His brothers, Owen and Bertrand also served during World War Two.
He was educated at New Plymouth Boy's High School and studied through Victoria University as an external student for his Bachelor of Arts. After leaving school he worked as a clerk accountant for Steels' Motor Spares Service. He had shown a keen interest in flying and aircraft in his youth and was a member of both the New Plymouth Aero Club and Model Aero Club.
In May 1938, after being accepted for a commission with the Royal Air Force, he embarked to the UK where he began training as a pilot at various training schools. In May 1939 he was posted to the Middle East where he served with various squadrons, including No. 45, 233 and 55.
Bullot was piloting a Blenheim aircraft when it crashed on the squadron's landing ground at Capuzzo, Libya on 21 January 1941, after air operations in Tobruck. All crew on board were killed including Bullot. He is buried in the Halfaya-Sollum War Cemetery., Egypt. He was 24 years old when he died.
