The South Taranaki Wars Memorial is situated in Normanby Domain on Ketemarae Road in Normanby. It records the names of 52 colonial servicemen who died in the area in the late 1860s and was unveiled by Prime Minister and MP for Egmont Thomas Mackenzie on 29 May 1912 - Mackenzie also unveiled the Waihi memorial that the same day. The memorial was constructed by Hāwera monumental masons Charles Jones and Sons, but the designer is unknown.

Formerly known as Victoria Park, the domain was the site of a redoubt built by settlers in 1879 to defend the district from a perceived threat from Parihaka.
