Unveiling of Reverend Whiteley memorial stone at Pukearuhe (13 Feb 1916). The young boy alongside the memorial with the New Zealand flag is Thomas Whiteley Rawson - great-grandson of Rev Whiteley - and son of Harold & Frances Rawson. He unveiled the memorial. Barleyman, Waitara. Collection of Puke Ariki (PHO2007-166).

This memorial to the Rev John Whiteley was unveiled on 13 February 1916 and marks the location of his death in 1869.
