Normanby War Memorial

The Hawera & Normanby Star reported on 13 January 1922 that after some delays the Normanby War Memorial was finally finished. It was designed by prominent Hāwera architects Duffill & Gibson with the work being completed by Messrs. Jones Bros. also of Hāwera. The location of the memorial had created some controversy, with some members of the local community suggesting it should be located in the domain, near the Taranaki Wars Memorial. 

Following World War Two, more names were added to the memorial.
