The Frankley Road War Memorial is a rough black marble slab with one cut and polished face upon which is engraved the names of those members of the area who were killed in action in the Great War. Below this a plaque bears the names of those who fell in World War II.
It was unveiled on 8 May 1921 by Lieut-Colonel C.H. Weston, with a religious service performed by Archdeacon Evans and the Rev. F.G. Harvie (vicar of St Mary's). A large crowd was present, despite the poor weather. Messrs. Snelling and Andrews provided a bus service out to Frankley Road for the service at a cost of 1s 6d each way.
The white plaque in the right is a memorial to George Patterson who was killed here on 28 Feb 1864.
