This house at 124 Pendarves Street was originally a small cottage moved on to the site by Dr. Henry Leatham. Around 1924 well-known New Plymouth architect Thomas H. Bates completed extensions and renovations to create the present house.
The house has Category II classification with Heritage New Zealand.
