This large two-storey residence at 68 Whiteley Street was designed for Mrs Alice Paul by well-known New Plymouth architect, Thomas H. Bates, in 1918.

A building permit for the house was issued on 5 November, 1918. Estimated cost was £1,600 and the builder was Julian & Son.

A property advertisement in 2016 indicated that at some stage the residence had been given the name "Pirimoana".
