Roy Elton Everiss was born on 24 September 1920 in New Plymouth and was the son of Ezra and Mary Edith Everiss. He served as a pilot with the Royal New Zealand Airforce during World War Two.
After the war he returned to live in Taranaki where he married Joan Margaret Blincoe and worked an insurance inspector.
He died on 9 December 1970 in New Plymouth age 50.
