Serviceman Michael (Mick) Joseph Brennan was born in Opunake on 2 December 1915, the eldest son of Arthur and Hannah Brennan. Before World War Two he worked as a clerk in Hāwera and married Cecelia Brophy and they had two children.
During World War Two he served with the Tongan Defence Force. He died in Auckland on 8 April 1980.
