This small Presbyterian Church is located on the right-hand side of Whangamomona Road as you drive down the road from the hotel. Local histories and newspapers are silent as to the date the church was actually erected.
The history of the Stratford Presbyterian Church reports that in 1902 a section was purchased for a church in Whangamomona for £12-10-0 plus a £1-1-0 Crown Grant fee. However the Taranaki Daily News reported on 26 July 1904 that the Taranaki Presbytery "had agreed to purchase a site at Whangamomona".
In 1903 the Presbyterian General Assembly announced that Whangamomona was to become a Home Mission Station. This meant that no permanent Minister stationed at the settlement, instead meetings were hosted by "Home Missionaries", with occasional services from visiting Ministers.
In 1939 the Home Mission closed and responsibility for the district passed to the Stratford Parish.
