This church in Huia Street, Ohura, was opened on 23 June 1912 by the Rev. G.W.J. Spence. It was the first Methodist building in the central King Country. (Manawatu Standard, 20 June 1912 p.5)

It is thought to have cost about £300 to build, the architect and builders are unknown.

At some stage the entrance has been altered and the bell tower removed.
