This Anglican church was built in 1901 on a site in Egmont Street, Kaponga. The architects were Clere & Swan (likely John Swan), Wellington and it was built by Mr J. Robertson, a local tradesman. The opening service was held on 25 April 1901 to a packed church. Rev. Compton announced that the total cost of the project was about £200, of which about £100 still needed to be found.

The Kaponga Heritage Inventory notes that the addition of a porch on the front of the church has detracted from the characteristic country church image. The porch and baptistry were added in 1961 and dedicated by the Venerable F.O. Ball, Archdeacon of Waitotara.

In 2013 the church was sold and moved from the site. Now located near New Plymouth off SH3 - on the right side of the road as you head south, between Holly Oak Terrace and Mangorei Road.
