Heroic Display

This photograph depicts a display of beer the New Plymouth Criterion Hotel's bottle store window, the centerpiece of the display is a portrait of a smiling Sir Edmund Hillary. Wrapped in a climbing jacket with goggles perched on top of his head, a young Edmund appears to preside over the array of beer bottles stacked beneath him. The advertisement beneath his portrait declares DB Lager and Vita Stout as supreme award winners at the Brewer's Exhibition in London.
