This building on Tasman Street was demolished in February, 2015.

According to an article in the Opunake & Coastal News, the building was originally located at 17 King Street. At this time it was a plumbers workshop, owned first by a Mr. Fawcett, and then by Tom Knapman.

In 1959 it was moved to the Tasman Street site and had to be set back from the road as it was not a retail activity. The business was sold after Tom Knapman died and from the mid-1970s the building was the base for Grant Cavaney's soapmaking enterprise, Egmont Soaps.
