A permit was granted by the Borough Council to Dr G. Home on 16 July 1924 for the construction of a house on Belt Road - Jones & Sandford were the builders, and the estimated construction cost was £3000. Whilst the permit notes Belt Road instead of Glen Almond Street, this permit still likely refers to 14 Glen Almond Street. Legal description: Lot 2 of DP4196.

Plans for the house are held by Puke Ariki and were prepared by notable New Plymouth architecture partnership Messenger, Griffiths & Taylor just prior to the building permit being issued in June 1924.
