On the 3rd of November 1924, a permit was granted to Francis Edward McEwan by the New Plymouth Borough Council for the construction of a house on Town Section 1231, Victoria Road - McEwan was the builder, and the estimated construction cost was £800.
In 2016 the house was relocated to a rural property east of Smart Road.
