This corner villa has strong street appeal and is part of group of surviving villas on in the vicinity.
The section was purchased by New Plymouth furniture store owner Edward Dingle in 1906, following the death of former owner Isabella Small, wife of former Borough Councillor W. T. Small. The home was constructed soon after this time, with the Borough Council granting a permit to Dingle for a 'cottage' on 'Cameron-Lemon Streets' on 11 October 1906. In 1914 Dingle subdivided Town Section 1573, retaining this part until 1920.
The home is clad in ship-lap weatherboard with sash windows - the exterior being in relatively original condition.
An earlier cottage was thought to have been constructed by W. T. Small on the part of Section 1573 at 13 Cameron Street in 1883 - this was likely demolished in the 1960s for construction of the present home on the site.
