This large two-storied villa was constructed in 1902-03 for Hamilton McKellar Bannister. The home was designed by notable New Plymouth architect Frank Messenger, who designed many of New Plymouth's two-storied villas in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
Messenger called for tenders in November 1902.
