In 1927 the Crown sold this section to Sydney Roy Lovell for £100 after they decided it was no longer required for state housing purposes. Lovell later sold the section to H. G. Richardson who had the present house constructed in 1936.
A permit was granted by the Borough Council to H. G. Richardson on 11 July 1936 for the construction of a house on Lot 2 of 96, Clemow Road – C. R. Cook was the builder, and the estimated construction cost was £550.
