A permit was granted by the Borough Council to New Plymouth builder Christopher Joseph Molloy on 9 July 1929 for the construction of a house on Lot 6, Pt 3, Brennan's Subdivision, South Road (now St Aubyn Street) – Molloy was the builder, and the estimated construction cost was £600.
