A permit was granted by the Borough Council to Mrs Annie Gray (Wright) on 15 December 1925 for the construction of a house on Lot 43, Ahoroa, St Aubyn Street – George Beamish was the builder, and the estimated construction cost was £500.
Mrs Wright owned a number of other properties in the Town of Ahoroa, with most constructed in the early 1900s. Annie remained in this house until her death on 1 March 1928, aged 84 years; she is buried in Te Hēnui Cemetery.
