A permit for two homes for J. Hartley and W. Shepherd on Section 30, Bracken Street (Hoyle Place was originally called Bracken Street), was granted by the Borough Council in August 1920 - the builders were Parker & McIssac, and the estimated construction cost for both homes was £1400.
