This villa in David Street is clad in plain horizontal weatherboard and is notable for its four-pane (rather than the more common single-pane) double hung sash windows.
It's thought that this was either private farm residence or related to the New Plymouth Hospital farm that once occupied the present Westown Hospital site.
This area was subdivided in the early 1900s and was originally called 'Soleville' - many of the original villas have since been demolished as Taranaki Base Hospital has expanded.
