A permit was granted by the Borough Council to F. H. Whitehead on 20 February 1926 for the construction of a house on Town Section 75, St Aubyn Street – Whitehead was the builder, and the estimated construction cost was £950.
It appears that timber-merchant Frederick Whitehead and his wife Ivy lived in the house until shortly before the end of World War Two and then moved to 202 St Aubyn Street. Frederick died on 12 July 1957.
The next owners were New Plymouth obstetrician and gynaecologist, Dr Thomas Henry Jagusch and his wife Trixi. Mrs Jagusch was elected Dominion president of the League of Mothers in the 1960s.
