A permit was granted to D. Penman in December 1913 for the construction of a residence on Part Town Reserve G, Devon Street West - the estimated construction cost was £400.
Town Reserve G was originally used as the Primitive Methodist Burial Ground. The cemetery was surveyed in 1901 (see DP1730) and brought under the Land Transfer Act. The reserve was later divided into smaller lots.
