A permit was granted by the Borough Council to Francis Richards Osborne in August 1928 for the construction of a house on Lot 2 of 49, Avenue Road (now Coronation Avenue) – R. L. Lovell was the builder, and the estimated construction cost was £700.
Francis lived in the home until his death on 9 July 1966 - He is buried in Te Hēnui Cemetery, Services Section.
The house was demolished or removed from the site in 2020.
