Little is known about the history of this villa, although it was likely constructed in the early 1910s.
The 1900-01 New Plymouth Borough Council Rating Book lists Charles Edgecumbe as the ratepayer for Town Section 86, with one house constructed on the property at this time; the section was valued at £12.
