A permit was granted by the Borough Council to Mrs M. H. Smith on 5 February 1930 for the construction of a house on Part Town Section 148, Dawson Street - B. Frewin was the builder, and the estimated construction cost was £850.
The house was moved off the site about 2010. A motel was then built on this section and the neighbouring section on the corner of Dawson and Young Streets.
