A permit was granted by the Borough Council to W. L. Thompson on 4 March 1925 for the construction of a residence on Part Town Section 317, Vivian Street - Thompson was the builder, and the estimated construction cost was £1100.
In February 1926 Thompson sold the house to Mrs I. M. Butchart, who only remained in the home for a few years before it was purchased by Miss Elizabeth Shaw.
