A permit was granted by the Borough Council to Lancelot Fieldes on 8 December 1927 for the construction of a house on Lot 22, Calvert Road (now Lyn Street) – Jones and Sandford were the builders, and the estimated construction cost was £700.
Jones and Sandford had earlier purchased Lot 22 from the Crown for £65 after they decided it was no longer required for state housing purposes.
