The Bank of New Zealand building in Inglewood was designed by T.H. Bates in 1941 and the contractors were the New Plymouth firm, Jones and Sandford.
The upper floor provided accommodation for staff and was occupied on 15 February 1943, with the office staff moving in on 12 April 1942.
The interior of the bank building was remodeled in 1976, including the addition of a staff room and stationery room. (BNZ Inglewood, A Century of Service 1878-1978, R.H. Griffin 1978).
The Bank of New Zealand closed this branch and one in Waitara in July 1997. (TDN, 8 July 1997)
