Also known as the 'Coronation Oaks', these oak trees were grown from acorns from Great Windsor Park, UK. Planted in 1937 by the South Taranaki Automobile Associaton to commemorate the coronation of King George VI.
Located on the corner of Mountain Road and Boyland Road (SH 3), Te Roti.
According to Kelvin Day in his 'Of passing interest' column (TDN 12 March 2012), there were others planted on Dixon Ave in Hāwera, Kakaramea and, possibly, Whenuakura.
