In 1931, it was agreed by the Pukekura Park Sports Ground Committee to construct two ticket boxes to be placed at the inner entrances to the grounds.
At the 25 March 1931 meeting of the Sports Ground Committee, it was moved by J. Garcia and F. J. Hill that Frank Amoore and L. Little procure the timber for two ticket boxes. It is probable that the ticket boxes were constructed by Amoore, who was a well-known New Plymouth builder.
At the 12 May 1931 meeting of the Pukekura Park Board, it was resolved that “the new ticket boxes erected by the Sports Ground Committee be painted with some colour to harmonise with the surroundings”.
These two ticket boxes have been associated with Pukekura Park for almost 90 years, and are rather rare surviving examples of their type.
