Located beneath mature native trees at New Plymouth's scenic Huatoki Domain, this mortared split stone seat was constructed in 1932 and was donated by accountant Patrick Stephen Carroll Esq. It is presently unclear who constructed the seat. At the time Carroll was the Hon. Secretary of the Huatoki Domain Board.

A central stone is engraved with the words "Donated by P. S. Carroll Esq 1932" - The stylised font makes it difficult to distinguish Carroll's name.

At the time of construction, Carroll was living on the northern side of Rawhiti Street (off nearby Carrington Street).
